I am the Scoutmaster for a Boy Scout Troop from Austin Texas. We took 17 Scouts and Scouters to Canon City for a 4 day/3 night run on the Arkansas River. Many of us had never rafted before. Our guides, Emily,Crisler and Stan were awesome instructors and helped us prep for day 1 with all the instructions we needed. They ensured we were set for sucess! We camped each night at the state parks. The breakfast, lunch and dinners were spectacular. All the teenage young men recieved plenty to eat and every meal was delicious. Our guides really knew how to cook! With us being a novice group, we worked on the fundamentals and team work needed to take on the Royal Gorge. We all had an amazing time honing our skills to tackle the Gorge with a perfect run! The Scouts ranged in age from 14 - 18 and all had a great time. Our guides were professional, knowledgable of the river and surroundings. They supported the Boy Scout youth lead program and made the Trip of a Lifetime for these young men. We will be back again!
