Phantom Canyon Bike Adventure

Phantom Canyon Gold Belt mountain bike tour. Ride fourteen miles all downhill through an amazingly beautiful and little known canyon tucked away on the back side of Pikes Peak near Canon City, Colorado. Our ride is the site of a long gone steam engine railway descending over 3000ft from Victor, Colorado to Cañon City. Experience Colorado and ride with us!

Experience one of Colorado’s most scenic, yet seldom visited canyons with Royal Gorge Mountain Bike Tours. Phantom Canyon was the site of one of Colorado’s most profitable narrow gauge railways which was used to transport gold ore from Victor to Florence to be processed. The railway has long been retired. Descend this historic dirt road along scenic vistas, pass through narrow gauge train tunnels, ride over a beautiful and historic steel and wood railroad trestle, and experience Colorful Colorado on one of our exclusive bikes tours. Note: Guests are with us for a total of 4 hours which includes prep time and shuttle. Time on bike averages any where from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours depending on riders abilities and riding styles.

My husband and I recently booked a bike tour with Royal Gorge Bike Tours. We did a 14 mile ride down Phantom Canyon. This was our first time with this kind of thing! It was a guided tour and Jim took the time to explain our bikes and the terrain we would be on. It was the best experience and the scenery was fantastic.
